Southern Regional Technical College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award Associate of Science Degrees and Associate of Applied Science Degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. About SACSCOC
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) is the body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states. It serves as the common denominator of shared values and practices primarily among the diverse institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Latin America and certain other international sites approved by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees that award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, or doctoral degrees. The Commission also accepts applications for membership from domestic institutions in the other 39 states, as well as international institutions of higher education around the world. History of Accreditation: Southern Regional Technical College
- 2021
The Board of Trustees of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) reaffirmed the accreditation of Southern Regional Technical College on June 17, 2021. - 2016
Southern Regional Technical College was granted continued accreditation on June 16, 2016, by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees at their June 2016 meeting after consideration of the results of the Substantive Change Committee’s report. [SRTC SACSCOC 2016 Continued Accreditation Letter]
- 2015
The Board of Trustees of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), on June 11, 2015, approved the Consolidation of Moultrie Technical College and Southwest Georgia Technical College to form Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) effective July 1, 2015. SRTC was recognized as an accredited institution at that time, and an On-Site Substantive Change Committee was authorized to occur. History of Accreditation: Moultrie Technical College and Southwest Georgia Technical College
- 2013

Degree-Granting Authority
Southern Regional Technical College has degree-granting authority from the appropriate government agency, the Georgia General Assembly to the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), previously known as the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education (DTAE). The Technical College System of Georgia, under powers granted pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 20-4-14 (C) (I), grants Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) authority to grant post-secondary awards including associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit.
